- HyGlos: Specifications

- HyGlos is an easy-to-learn, memory resident system. It makes rapid
- hypertext jumps <link03> to ASCII files, using links found in ASCII
- files or displayed on the screen by other programs.

- The specifications of HyGlos are:

- Program size 23,243 bytes
- Memory used: 70,000 bytes (for program, text, and links)
- ASCII file size: Maximum size in 20K (set by text buffer)
- Jump recall: Remembers Right-arrow jumps 32 levels deep
- Characters shown: ASCII characters (values 32-255)

- Essential files for running the program:

- Program: HyGlos.EXE
- Title ASCII file: Start.TXT ... <start.txt>
- HyGlos F1 file: Help.TXT .... <help.txt>
- Set keystroke call: HGK.EXE ..... <link42 1 4>

- Directory Instructions:
-
- If running HyGlos on a hard disk, copy the listed files into
- a separate directory named HyGlos. Always load the HyGlos
- program from this directory.

- Installation Instructions:
-
- At the DOS prompt in the HyGlos directory, type HGK to set the
- keystrokes that call the HyGlos program. The calling keystrokes
- must include a shift, control, function, or alternate key along
- with at least one other key. <link09>

- Type the desired calling keystroke, then press F10 to insert
- the calling keystroke into the HyGlos.EXE file while saving the
- previous version as HyGlos.BAK.

- Loading HyGlos instruction:

- At the DOS prompt in the HyGlos directory, type HR to
- install the program in memory.

- (press PgDn)

- Operations:

- Press Arrow keys to operate program <link01>
- Press F1 key for help (unless F1 hot key) <help.txt>
- Press ESC to terminate program <link09 1 7>

- Memory-resident conflicts:
-
- Because the HyGlos program makes no stack calls, it is unaffected
- by the loading sequence or memory location of other programs.

- Usage:

- HyGlos is not in the public domain (because it is copyrighted
- and I've reserved all rights to it). However you can use HyGlos
- without restriction provided HyGlos.EXE is not modified.
