  1. HyGlos:  Specifications
  2. =======================

  4.         HyGlos is an easy-to-learn, memory resident system.  It makes rapid
  5.         hypertext jumps <link03> to ASCII files, using links found in ASCII
  6.         files or displayed on the screen by other programs.
  7.  
  8.     The specifications of HyGlos are:
  9.  
  10.            Program size         23,243 bytes
  11.            Memory used:         70,000 bytes (for program, text, and links)
  12.            ASCII file size:     Maximum size in 20K (set by text buffer)
  13.            Jump recall:         Remembers Right-arrow jumps 32 levels deep
  14.            Characters shown:    ASCII characters (values 32-255)

  16.     Essential files for running the program:

  18.            Program:             HyGlos.EXE
  19.            Title ASCII file:    Start.TXT ... <start.txt>
  20.            HyGlos F1 file:      Help.TXT .... <help.txt>
  21.            Set keystroke call:  HGK.EXE ..... <link42 1 4>

  25.     Directory Instructions:

  27.            If running HyGlos on a hard disk, copy the listed files into
  28.            a separate directory named HyGlos.  Always load the HyGlos
  29.            program from this directory.

  31.     Installation Instructions:

  33.            At the DOS prompt in the HyGlos directory, type HGK to set the
  34.            keystrokes that call the HyGlos program.  The calling keystrokes
  35.            must include a shift, control, function, or alternate key along
  36.            with at least one other key.  <link09>

  38.            Type the desired calling keystroke, then press F10 to insert
  39.            the calling keystroke into the HyGlos.EXE file while saving the
  40.            previous version as HyGlos.BAK.

  42.     Loading HyGlos instruction:

  44.            At the DOS prompt in the HyGlos directory, type HR to
  45.            install the program in memory.

  51.            Press Arrow keys to operate program        <link01>
  52.            Press F1 key for help (unless F1 hot key)  <help.txt>
  53.            Press ESC to terminate program             <link09 1 7>

  55.     Memory-resident conflicts:

  57.            Because the HyGlos program makes no stack calls, it is unaffected
  58.            by the loading sequence or memory location of other programs.

  60.     Usage:

  62.            HyGlos is not in the public domain (because it is copyrighted
  63.            and I've reserved all rights to it).  However you can use HyGlos
  64.            without restriction provided HyGlos.EXE is not modified.
